German Study Abroad Program:

2025 WCU Vienna Summer Program

The Department of Languages and Cultures currently offers the following Study Abroad Programs in German: WCU Summer Program in Vienna, Austria May 31 - June 28, 2025.

  • Application deadline: February 1, 2025 (students encouraged to apply early to secure their seat in the program).
  • Students will earn 6 pass/fail transfer credits at WCU in either German 102, 201, 202, 310, 315 or at a higher level depending on the students placement in German. Students will receive 80 hrs of instruction from Actilingua (a language school in Vienna) and another 10 hrs of mandatory instruction from Dr. Moser during excursions in Vienna, Austria; Munich, Germany; Budapest, Hungary;  and Bratislava, Slovakia.
  • Excursions include: Walking tour of Vienna with Dr. Moser; Tours with Dr. Moser at Vienna's Military History Museum; Belvedere Palace Österreichische Galerie and two two-day weekend excursions from Vienna to Munich and Budapest, as well as a one-day excursion to Bratislava.
  • Travel Dates May 30 - June 28, 2025
  • Estimated Cost: $3,875
  • This includes tuition at Actilingua language institute for up to 6 pass/fail transfer credits at WCU and housing from Actilingua Residenz. Dinners as well as public transit pass in Vienna are included. All excursions with Dr. Moser in Vienna, Munich, Budapest, and Bratislava are included. Breakfasts and Lunches are extra.
  • The plane ticket is extra, but students may extend their stay in Europe before or after the program at their own expense.
