Regional Rail and Amtrak

SEPTA Regional Rail

SEPTA's Paoli / Thorndale Regional Rail line goes to the Exton Station. You can then get to campus via WCU's Exton Train Station Shuttle Service!

Amtrak

Amtrak's Keystone Service Train and Pennsylvanian Train stop at the same Exton regional rail station. You can then get to campus via WCU's Exton Train Station Shuttle Service!

Bus Transit

SEPTA's 104 bus stops right on campus. SEPTA's 92 and 135 bus lines stop at the West Chester Transit Center. Need help figuring out your route? Use SEPTA's trip planner.

ChescoBus's SCCOOT line from Oxford to West Chester has a stop on campus on New Street just north of Rosedale Avenue! Purchase SCCOOT passes here, and explore other route options on the ChescoBus Website.

Paying for Public Transit

SEPTA

SEPTA accepts contactless payment (credit/debit card or Apple/Google/Samsung Pay) for travel on bus, Metro and Regional Rail. SEPTA Key Cards are also available for use. SEPTA Key Cards are available for purchase at the SSI Service Counter in the ground floor of Sykes Student Union. Learn more on SEPTA's Ways to Pay site.

Amtrak

Purchase train tickets online or on the Amtrak app. Larger Amtrak stations have ticket kiosks or staffed ticket booths. Learn more on Amtrak's site.

ChescoBus

Purchase fares on the ChescoBus site.

Discounted SEPTA Monthly Passes

 

Septa monthly pass flyer WCU students and employees may purchase SEPTA monthly passes at a discounted rate! Passes go on sale between the 1st and 20th of the month before you'd like the pass. 

SEPTA Key Cards are available for purchase at the SSI Service Counter in the ground floor of Sykes Student Union.

Emergency Ride Home

Worried that taking public transit to campus might leave you stranded in the case of an unexpected or unplanned event? The Emergency Ride Home program can reimburse you for emergency use of a taxi, rental car, or Uber or Lyft. Septa Bus on Campus

WCU Shuttle Buses

WCU Shuttle Buses are free to WCU students, faculty, and staff with a valid RamCard.  Various shuttle bus routes are available throughout campus and travel to and around North Campus and South Campus.  In addition, the Uptown Loop shuttle bus travels to Downtown West Chester including the Bradford Plaza shopping center (grocery store, pharmacy, dollar store, and more), off-campus residential buildings, and East Campus. The new Goshen Loop bus will stop at key apartment complexes as well as the local Aldi, beginning in Fall 2025.
