FAQs

Why do I need a parking permit?

Since there is limited parking at WCU, parking must be regulated to ensure its fair, safe and orderly usage by persons permitted to use WCU parking areas.

How do I know what permit to apply for and where to park with my permit?

Visit the Parking/Vehicle Regulations page. Select the category on the left side that describes your status as an employee/student and view the qualifications and permit eligibility, as well as the parking lots/locations that are specific to that parking permit. Parking maps are helpful and are located at Parking Services and on our website. If you need additional help, please contact Parking Services: 610-436-3345.

When are parking regulations enforced?

Student parking lots are enforced Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm. Employee lots are enforced 24/7/365. Summer/winter break enforcement can be found on the first page of the Parking Services website.

How much are parking permits and garage passes?

Parking permits are $30.00 for both employees and students. Garage passes are $260.00 per semester for employees and $200.00 per semester for students. Summer (includes all summer sessions) is $150.00 for both employees and students.

Where can I pay my parking ticket(s)?

Parking tickets may be paid online or by mail: Bursar Office, 25 University Ave. West Chester, PA 19383. Once payment is made, the hold will be removed from your account within 2 hours.

How do I appeal my parking ticket(s)?

If you wish to appeal a parking ticket, you must appeal in writing at the Parking Services office within 10 calendar days from the date the ticket was issued. All appeals must be submitted on the official appeal form. Appeal forms are available at Parking Services and online .

Where can my guest park on campus?

Guests may park in student parking lots if they are visiting outside of enforcement hours (Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm). Guests may park in one of our three daily parking garages at anytime - Sharpless Street Garage, New Street Garage and Student Rec Center Garage.

Cost: $1.50 per hour/ $9.00 max daily.

I'm a first year resident, am I permitted to park on campus?

As a first year resident, you are not permitted to park in campus parking lots.   This does not prevent you from parking your vehicle in the on campus parking garages by paying the semester rate or hourly/daily rate.

You may file a "hardship exception" appeal to this parking regulation by providing sufficient documentation demonstrating that inability to park on campus will create either a financial or medical hardship.

Hardship Instructions and Application.

I lost my parking permit, what do I do?

Please visit Parking Services to request a replacement parking permit. Replacement parking permits are $15.00 and must be paid in cash or check. You may not park your vehicle in campus parking lots until you obtain your replacement parking permit. You may pay to park in any of the parking garages on campus or metered spaces on the streets.

I have a parking permit but I don't have it with me, what do I do?

You will need to visit Parking Services to obtain a temporary parking permit or you may pay to park in one of our parking garages on campus. Temporary parking permits do not exceed 7 days.
