Program Overview
The Bachelor of Music in Music Education will prepare you for a successful career as a music educator. Through comprehensive course offerings and the student teaching experience, you will develop the skills you need to serve at all grade levels within both public and private schools. Our curriculum uniquely combines the study of child growth with an understanding of the principles of learning, as they apply to music. You will learn how to evaluate students to assess musical progress and how to best develop curriculum to support student success.

- Ability to begin your teaching experience in your first year, including involvement with early childhood education in various settings

What can I do with this degree?
Our graduates use their broad foundation in all aspects of music to pursue paths within the field, including:
- Working as general music educators in elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools
- Serving as band directors, orchestra directors, and choir directors
- Leading community music programs
- Launching their own music education businesses, complete with their own studios
- Pursuing advanced degrees at distinguished musical institutions and conducting and presenting research at music education conferences
