philosophy
My teaching philosophy focuses on motivating and empowering students to want to learn
and to apply what they are learning to their lives and their future profession. It
is my personal mission as an educator to teach and mentor future generations of nutrition
professionals; to build beyond mere competency toward the mastery of the discipline.
It is my goal and philosophy to have our graduates attain not only a job, but to attain
careers of both service and leadership. I strive to be on top of emerging, evidence-based
practices (EBP), both clinically and in teaching. In keeping with my philosophy, my
courses are designed to assist in learning, not just rote repetition, and draw on
my clinical and research experiences to expand beyond the walls of the text and classroom.
