Philosophy
"Let us never consider ourselves finished nurses...we must be learning all our lives"
is a quote from Florence Nightingale and captures my philosophy of how nurses should
practice nursing and how I myself continue to look for new opportunities to learn.
As an educator working with diverse adult nursing students it is my responsibility
to facilitate learning by making the information relevant to their nursing practice.
Also of importance is integrating multiple approaches of presenting the information
in a culturally sensitive way so that all types of learners can understand, synthesis,
and apply the information. As nursing is an ever-changing field it is my belief that
educators must continue to stay current and be open to integrating new technology,
new theories and new theoretical models of care into both their in class and online
learning environments.
