Student Affairs: Vice President
The Office of the Vice President is a good place to go with general questions about the University and specific concerns about the quality of life outside the classroom. Information about policies, procedures, general student life concerns, or problems with "red tape" at the University can also be discussed in the Vice President's Office. The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to provide high quality student services and developmental programs that support the academic mission of the University and promote student learning outcomes such as civic and community responsibility, development of identity, and the acquisition of cognitive, life, leadership and interpersonal/intrapersonal skills. The goal of Student Affairs is to engage students in their learning and help them succeed.
LGBTQA Services Student Office Assistant (Pay Band 1)
- Position Responsibilities:
- Data Input, General Office, Social Media
- Involves the following:

• Handling financial, student or personnel data/records - This position will provide general assistance with:
- Assisting the LGBTQA Services Coordinator in serving the needs of the faculty. staff and students. The department provides leadership to the student organization, peer educator program and Ally program. Assist with program preparation and assembling all training/workshop materials.
- Specific duties as they relate to this department:
- Data entry of all surveys Ally training/workshop folder assembly Copying/ Printing materials Hanging/delivering flyers Updating social media sites (as needed based on exp.) Assisting with department programs (based on availability) Making deliveries/pickups across campus
- Learning Outcomes:
- The office of LGBTQA Services, works with a diverse group of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning. Working in this position will allow the student to be exposed to diverse populations and support a department working on equality for all regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. You will gain administrative experience and will be trained while working in Word programs as well as various social media outlets. You will also gain experience in networking with other departments and becoming familiar with resources since the student will deliver and pick up items from various places on campus. Overall this experience will be dynamic, no day will be the same and you will be working in a fun and fast paced environment thus preparing you for future career experiences that are similar.
Student Assistant (Pay Band 1)

• Handling financial, student or personnel data/records - This position will provide general assistance with:
- Student Workers will assist the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Other offices to be served include the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement, Fraternity and Sorority Life, LGBTQA Services and Judicial Affairs and Student Assistance.
- Specific duties as they relate to this department:
- To provide assistance for the receptionist including screening phone calls, greeting visitors and assisting students. To run campus errands as needed. To run the copy machine as needed. To do filing as needed. To complete special projects as assigned. To provide direct back up to your assigned support staff member and the staff he/she supports.
- Learning Outcomes:
- Students will learn to meet and greet faculty, staff, students and those in the outside sector. Students will be taught to use various office equipment, e.g. copy/fax/scanner. Students will be expected to behave in a professional business-life manner which will be useful experience after graduation. Students will be exposed to various opportunities on campus including over 265 clubs and organizations, various sororities and fraternities, and a multitude of volunteer programs. Students will be encouraged to become a paraprofessional on campus which will instill a sense of pride, school spirit and life-long learning experience.
