English Department Mourns the Passing of Kim Bridgford
June 28, 2020
Dr. Kim Bridgford passed away on June 28, 2020, after a brief battle with cancer. A poet extraordinaire, Kim made an indelible impact on her students, colleagues, and fellow poets, and she will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, work with her, and learn from her.
The English Department celebrated Kim's life and work with a memorial event on September 25, 2020. This virtual gathering was organized by Ellie Kibbe and Selene Lacayo, two of Kim's students in the English MA creative writing program, and was hosted by Dr. Eleanor Shevlin.
We invite you to view the Memory Scroll featured at the end of the event. Compiled by Ellie and Selene in tribute to Kim, this 10-minute video features written remembrances by students, faculty, colleagues, and fellow poets, all of whom benefitted from Kim's generous mentoring.
