Ram Swap
Surplus Equipment
The Surplus Property Manager and Facilities assist with the removal and redistribution of equipment and office furnishings which are unwanted but still usable. Ram Swap's goal is to enhance sustainability efforts and receive the maximum amount of value from a piece of furniture or equipment by finding re-use on campus.
Please remember that removal or recycling of computers and computer-related equipment is handled by IS&T. Contact the IS&T HelpDesk for assistance.
Any WCU employee can advertise the availability of surplus University-owned equipment and furniture and supplies they no longer have a need for on the Ram Swap platform (no personal items shall be listed). Listings will be active for 30 days and postings should be taken down if an item is no longer available.
Whenever possible, departments are asked to retain and list surplus items to Ram Swap as "On Campus" listings for at least one week before placing a work order to have them taken to the Warehouse storage and listed as a "Warehouse" listing. If equipment or furnishings listed by a department are requested by another department via Ram Swap, the original department should submit a Work Request through the iServiceDesk for Moving Services. Arrangements for smaller items can be made directly between departments.
If an "On-Campus" listing is not claimed, the listing department can fill out the Surplus Disposal/Declaration form and place a Work Request through the iServiceDesk for the item to be taken to the storage warehouse. This process should also be followed for any surplus items that will not be able to be reused on campus. The surplus property manager will then dispose, donate, or sell surplus items in accordance with the Surplus Property Policy and State Adverse Interest Act.
Under no circumstances should University property or Grant Funded assets be sold, donated, removed from campus, or discarded, regardless of condition, without authorization from the Surplus Property Manager.
