Phillips Memorial Building
Faculty from West Chester University and across the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education are invited to participate in the 5th Brandywine Project Workshop, an exciting opportunity to develop or modify courses to focus on issues of sustainability, surrounded by supportive and creative colleagues from our region. Named after the Brandywine Creek watershed, WCU's workshop innovates by comprehensively integrating the local and global with the social, economic, and environmental aspects of sustainability. Novel workshop sessions include: the global context for higher education and sustainability (including the UN Sustainable Development Goals); social justice and sustainability; integrating whole campus immersive learning into the classroom; and best practices for teaching sustainability from students and faculty. Whether or not you are familiar with sustainability, this workshop is the perfect place to begin learning or to deepen your understanding by further exploring your discipline, creating interdisciplinary connections, and becoming more informed about campus and regional sustainability actions & opportunities for teaching. Participants will leave the workshop ready to infuse sustainability knowledge and practices into their own courses and to inspire their students and colleagues to grow a culture of sustainability at their universities and beyond.
Registration Costs - $350
Non-WCU registrants can book overnight accommodations at the Warner Hotel in downtown West Chester. Ask for the ‘Brandywine Project’ block of rooms by May 6th to get the special conference rate of $149/night.

Sustainability is not just for scientists. Attaining a sustainable, equitable future
will require all fields to understand how their actions shape the planet & affect
its many inhabitants. Come meet colleagues from across the disciplines to learn how
your field is addressing sustainability and to share this knowledge with your students.
